About BOU:
The Bank of
Uganda (BoU) is the Central Bank of the Republic of Uganda. It was opened on
the 15th August 1966. It is 100% owned by the Government of Uganda but it is
not a government Department.  Bank of
Uganda conducts all its activities in close association with the Ministry of
Finance, Planning and Economic Development (MoFPED). Bank of Uganda is
responsible for monetary policy and maintaining price stability.
Job Summary: The Examining
Officer will support Bank of Uganda in routinely assessing the existing risks
in the assigned banks, determine the banks’ overall financial condition and
validate compliance with applicable laws, regulations and directives issued to
the assigned banks.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
·        
The incumbent prepares a draft report on the
existing risks in the assigned banks and identifies areas of focus during
on-site inspections of the banks for review by the Section/Unit Head.
·        
Updates risk profiles of banks assigned by the
Section/Unit Head to ensure that all identified emerging risks are documented
to facilitate the planning and implementation of the annual work plan of
on-site inspections of banks.
·        
Utilizes the Manual for On-site Inspections and
working papers during on-site inspections of banks to ensure that all the
assigned areas of focus are adequately evaluated.
·        
Takes part in on-site inspections of banks, drafts
the issues established during the inspections, reports on the assigned areas of
focus and proposes corrective actions to facilitate the compilation of issues
for discussion at meetings with the Management and Boards of Directors of assigned
banks.
·        
Performs ad-hoc assignments as assigned to ascertain
the underlying issues and propose corrective actions.
·        
Perform any other duties as assigned by the Senior
Examining Officer

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
·        
The applicants for the Examination Officer Jobs must
hold either First Class or Upper Second Class Bachelor’s degrees in any of the
following disciplines: Commerce, Accounting, Business Administration,
Statistics or Economics.
·        
Possession of a Master’s degree in any of the above
disciplines is an added advantage
·        
Comprehensive accounting knowledge
·        
Skills in financial analysis
·        
Computer literacy skills and knowledge
·        
Excellent communication skills
·        
Excellent interpersonal skills
·        
Age: Between 23- 30
years.
