NFT Consult is a leading HR Consultancy firm which seeks to recruit for
its valuable client, SolarNow which provides solar power solutions. The company
sells, installs and services solar home systems in Uganda. Clients are rural
households and entrepreneurs that are mainly off-the-grid.  In 2015, the management team of Solar Now in
Uganda was strengthened with dedicated managers for Sales, Credit, Service, Facilities
and Finance. Current staff in Uganda is around 170 FTE, of which over 120
people work in any of the company’s 36 upcountry branches. These 36 branches
are divided in 6 regions, each supervised by one Regional Manager. The Regional
Managers report to the Sales Manager.
Job Summary: The Sales Manager is the spill of the
company’s front office operations, overseeing branch and regional performance,
and working together with the Credit and Service Manager to ensure operations
are smooth and in compliance with the company policies. Staff productivity is a
concern, and the Sales Manager works together with HR and the GM to constantly
measure and improve this. The Sales Manager works with simple targets for sales
volumes per branch and region. The function requires intensive field travel to gain
understanding of the facts behind the figures and to gain hands-on control over
the situation. Also, an important part of the function is training of existing
and new staff in the branches, and the training of Regional Managers to
effectively train, motivate and control the branch teams. As a member of the
Management Team, the successful candidate will bring new energy and skills to
the leadership team, thereby not fearing to challenge existing ideas and
practices. However, the Sales Manager is not responsible for the design and
planning of such policies, which would be challenging to combine with leading
the day-to-day operations and reaching the revenue targets.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Mentor,
train and coach a team of currently 6 Regional Managers, ensuring the right
level of motivation and skills;
·        
Oversee
the Regional Management team, ensuring compliance with company policies and
achievement of targets;
·        
Initiate
and coordinate recruitment and performance assessment of branch staffs;
·        
Solve
any operational issues that exceed the authorization limits of the RMs;
·        
Audit
errors and omissions in the field and suggest policy improvements to the MT;
·        
Oversee
the implementation of the expansion strategy; market research, opening of new
branches and regions in Uganda;
·        
Investigate
actual performance versus plan and suggesting improvements to the Management
Team;
·        
Direct
customer satisfaction studies, in collaboration with Marketing;
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
·        
The
Sales manager must preferably hold a BSc degree in the field of business
administration or related fields;
·        
Five
or more years of proven sales management experience, preferably gained in a
FMCG/retail organization and/or in the context of last-mile distribution;
·        
The
Sales Manager role requires an exceptional individual, with a genuine passion
