Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC)
has been implementing projects for Internally Displaced Persons and Refugees in
Northern Uganda, West Nile and South Western respectively, since 1997. Having smoothly
phased-out by end of August 2014 in the North, NRC reopened from September
2014, to compliment efforts of the Government of Uganda and UNHCR in supporting
the South Sudanese Refugees currently settled in the Districts of Adjumani and
Arua in West Nile. With funding from SIDA, NMFA, ECHO, NRC is implementing
integrated projects in Adjumani/Arua refugee settlements.

Job Summary: The Project
Coordinator Livelihoods will be responsible for the oversight of the Livelihood
Project in West Nile.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee
the implementation of the Livelihood project according to strategy,
proposals and plans - Support
the manager in project proposal writing - Ensure
adherence to NRC policies and donor requirements - In
charge of developing annual activity and work plans - In
charge of conducting training and development of Livelihood staff - Actively
promote and share ideas for improvement and necessary changes in the
activities - Build
and strengthen working relationships with relevant partners and local
authorities - Organize
trainings for the Livelihood team, relevant partners and beneficiaries - Prepare
and submit monthly activity/project reports and other reporting as
required - Ensure
proper filing of all project documents - Also,
work towards the establishment and capacity building of youth groups, CBOs - Work
closely with relevant local authorities, local NGOs and financial
institutions
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The
ideal candidate for this opportunity should preferably hold a bachelor’s degree
in Social Sciences, Agriculture, Forestry, Aquaculture or a related field - Past
experience from working as a Livelihood Project Coordinator in a
humanitarian/recovery context - Prior
experience from working in complex and volatile contexts - Documented
results related to the position’s responsibilities - Working
knowledge about own manager skills/profile - Fluency
in English, both written and verbal - Prior
knowledge of working with emergencies - Working
knowledge of the local language - Experience
with start-up, exit or similar - All
