Vision Printing & Publishing Company Limited (NVPPCL), started business in
March 1986. It is a multimedia business housing newspaper, magazines, internet
publishing, television, radio broadcasting, commercial printing, advertising and
distribution services. NVPPCL is listed on the Uganda Stock Exchange, with an
expected turnover of over UGX 60 billion (FY 2010/2011).
Job Summary:  The Performance & Reward Manager will be
in charge of developing systems and procedures that will ensure achievement of high
performance and motivation of New Vision staff; communicating clearly to
managers and supporting them in implementation:
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
·        
Work
closely with Heads of Departments in order to understand their strategic and
operational objectives and support them through developing an effective
performance management system that supports their objectives while enhancing
the performance of the human resource.
·        
In
charge of developing and implementing strategies and systems to support
managers in the performance management of their staff including; supporting
them in the development of job descriptions, developing the performance
appraisal process, carrying out training on performance management.
·        
The
Performance & Reward Manager will be responsible for ensuring that staff
development plans are developed, in collaboration with the staff concerned and
that these are fed into Learning & Development plans.
·        
Oversee
the formulation of reward recognition and benefits strategies aligned to Vision
Group business needs, develop and manage related policy and procedures and
systems.
·        
Maintain
an accurate database of all financial and non-financial rewards given to staff
for performance achievements and regularly review and advise on any improvements
as per trends of best practice.
·        
Conduct
annual reward related equality audits ensuring fairness and consistency in the
operation of reward recognition and benefits strategies and related policy
procedures and systems.
·        
Provide
a broad range of consultative services to all levels of employees regarding
policies and procedures.
·        
Perform
any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
·        
The
ideal candidate for the New Vision Performance & Reward Manager vacancy
should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or equivalent
honors degree with a post graduate diploma in Human Resources.
·        
At
least six years’ experience in HR, three years’ experience in performance
management specifically.
·        
Possess
the ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships.
·        
Prior
experience of effective challenging and influencing at management level.
·        
Ability
to influence and coaching skills.
·        
Advanced
computer literacy skills with the ability to do analysis of data and generate
reports.
·        
Detailed
knowledge and understanding of the present employment legislation.
·        
Excellent
interpersonal skills, ability to prioritize work, excellent organizational
skills, and initiative to improve processes.
·        
Excellent
presentation skills.
