Uganda Technical College-Elgon
(UTC-Elgon) provides practical skills in areas on engineering, science and
technology and similar fields so as to equip learners. Students will graduate
into experts in their fields of study because of the dedicated strong team
ready to assist them advance their careers.
Job Summary: The
lecturers will instruct and supervise the trainees during demonstrations,
practical and field work sessions in Building and Civil Engineering, Electrical
Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Architecture courses.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • In
    charge of preparing practical materials used for instructing the trainees/
    students.
  • Carry
    out tutorial classes/lessons according to set timetable.
  • Participate
    in setting, administering and assessing trainees’ performance in practical
    examinations.
  • Maintain
    and ensure proper use of machines, tools and equipment.
  • The
    Lecturer will guide and counsel trainees/ students.
  • Routinely
    attend general staff meetings, panel, departmental and committee meetings.
  • Participate
    in co-curriculum activities and community activities.
  • Perform
    any other duties related to the profession.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The
    applicants for the Lecturer vacancies must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in a
    relevant field from a recognised University/Tertiary Institution.
  • Possession
    of a Certificate or a Diploma in Teacher Technical Education is an added
    advantage.

  • Proven
    instructional/ demonstrational skills
  • Good
    evaluation skills
  • Excellent
    communication and interpersonal skills
  • Computer
