About CiplaQCIL:
CiplaQCIL is a state-of-the-art WHO
certified pharmaceutical manufacturing plant located at Luzira Industrial Park,
Kampala producing anti-retroviral drugs (ARVs) & Artemisinin-based
Combination Therapies (ACTs) to combat HIV/AIDS and Malaria respectively.
Founded in 2005, it is a joint venture between Uganda’s Quality Chemicals
Limited & Cipla Ltd, a leading Indian pharmaceutical company.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
·        
In
charge of keenly reviewing the company Health, Safety and Environment policy
·        
The
incumbent will be instituting necessary safety guidelines for staff, visitors,
fleet and machinery
·        
Carrying
out safety audits, proposing and implementing authorized safety capacity
enhancement interventions
·        
Managing
environmental audits
·        
In
charge of establishing cordial liaisons with regulatory authorities
·        
The
HSE Officer will be coordinating health and safety trainings and meetings
·        
The
incumbent will also ensure adherence and compliance with all legal requirements
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
·        
The
applicants for the Health, Safety & Environmental Officer should preferably
hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Environmental
Sciences, Industrial Chemistry or Process, or any other relevant course
·        
At
least three years’ demonstrable experience in the field of Health, Safety &
Environmental, in an industrial set up.
·        
Relevant
training and a working relationship with the relevant safety bodies and
regulators is an added advantage.
