manufacturer of high quality baked clay construction products since 1950 and is
listed on the Uganda Securities Exchange. It uses Hoffman kilns to currently
provide the building materials which include roofing tiles, bricks, maxpans,
quarry tiles among others.
Job Summary: The Head of Internal Audit will oversee
Uganda Clays’ Internal Audit function in providing reasonable assurance to
Management and the Board that risk management, control, and governance systems
are functioning as intended by developing an integrated internal audit
framework for the business. In addition, the incumbent will be responsible for
ensuring that the company has internal audit risk benchmarks for every
department within the business and that all policies, systems and procedure are
operating and are implemented in accordance with best practice and organisation
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
support the Board in carrying out its oversight role in a way that will drive
the continuing success of the company.
the Board and Senior Management with clear reports on the current status of the
company and practical recommendations for enhancing success and mitigating
charge of identifying and effectively managing UCL’s organizational risks in
order to maximize achievement of company objectives and provide guidance to
senior management on the effectiveness of the risk management strategies and
interventions implemented.
that independent, objective and thorough audits are carried out in order to
identify opportunities for adding value to Uganda Clays.
Qualifications, Skills and
ideal candidate should preferably hold a Master’s degree in either Accounting,
Finance, Business Administration/ Management or Commerce and a full
professional qualifications either in ACCA, CPA, CIA or CIMA.
membership in ICPAU and IIA Uganda is an added advantage.
least five years’ experience in either external or internal auditing at middle
or top management level gained from a reputable organisation.
for money audit competences and principles
knowledge of the Public Procurement and Disposal of Assets Act.
