We had 11 branches up to 1972 and retained only one branch during the
turbulence of the 70s. In 1998 we acquired 4 branches of former Cooperative
Bank in November 1999. Standard Chartered Bank Uganda today has a network of 11
branches in Kampala, Jinja, Mbale, Mbarara and Gulu. Standard Chartered Bank
Uganda has 29 ATMs and over 600 staff.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
·        
The Accounts
Service Officer will mainly receive all mandates, customer instructions and
other documentation from the branches and other business units, as per laid
down processes and guidelines.
·        
Carry
out a diligent & accurate document Quality Assurance check on all the new
Account Opening and Amendment Documents received from Branches with regards to
documentation on file ensuring that they meet current Customer Due Deligence
(CDD) /Anti Money Laundering (AML) account opening standards and policies.                                                   
·        
The
applicant will carry out an accurate Systems Quality assurance check on all
accounts and amendments whose full / detailed account opening has been done by
Global Shared Service Centre (GSSC HUB) to ensure that all customer information
has been fully and correctly input.
·        
Filing
of all documents forwarded to Central Filing Unit (CFU) by Branches and other
units (AOF, Amendments, Acknowledgements, M Banking & e-Statement forms,
Account closure forms, reviews etc)                                        
·        
Cordially
attend to all queries regarding Customer Mandates that are directed to Account
Services via email and ensure all queries are responded to within the set
timelines as per the SLA.
·        
The Accounts
Service Officer will receive and assist to rectify non-compliant Mandates
forwarded to the specialised cell after Quality Assurance checks have been
performed by other officers as per the Customer Charter – “Missing Data
Process.
·        
Remember
to Speak Up as per policy in place and you do not need to have the evidence.
·        
Perform
any other duties as assigned to you by the Manager, Lending & Liability
Operations or Head Banking Operations.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
·        
The
ideal candidate for the Stanchart Bank Accounts Service Officer should
preferably hold a relevant Bachelor’s degree.
·        
Keen
eye for details and keenness to maintain high standards on Customer Due
diligence / Anti-Money Laundering.    
·        
Possess
the ability to concentrate for long hours.
·        
Basic
banking knowledge and understanding of the account opening process and
requirements is an added advantage.
