About
US:
The Ministry
of Energy & Mineral Development has a mandate to establish, promote the
development, manage and safeguard the rational and sustainable exploitation and
utilization of energy and mineral resources for social and economic
development. The Nuclear Energy Unit under the Ministry of Energy & Mineral
Development (MEMD) is implementing a number of programmes with the aim to
promote and develop the use of Nuclear Energy for power generation and other
peaceful purposes in Uganda under the Atomic Energy Act, 2008. The Unit seeks
to recruit qualified trainees in Civil Engineering, Environment and Science and
Technology. The trainees will be given an opportunity to work and get
acquainted with the functions of the Nuclear Energy Unit.
Key
Duties and Responsibilities: 
·        
Actively monitor the implementation of policy and
laws that promote the use of nuclear energy in power generation and other
peaceful purposes
·        
In charge of monitoring and coordinating the
technical cooperation programmes on peaceful application of nuclear
technologies
·        
Monitor the implementation of strategy and plan
for local industrial participation in nuclear power programme
·        
Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the
supervisor
Qualifications,
Skills and Experience: 
·        
The applicants should preferably be Fresh graduate
Ugandans who have attained their Degrees in the last two years with a First
Class or Second Class Upper Degree in the following disciplines; Bachelor of
Environmental Science, Engineering in Environmental Engineering and Management,
Science with Environmental Management, Environmental Science, Technology &
Management, or other related disciplines from a recognised institution.

Excellent oral and written communication skills
·        
Possess excellent computer, writing, and
presentation skills.
·        
Good research and report writing skills
·        
High level of integrity and confidentiality
·        
Excellent interpersonal skills
Age: Below 25
years.
