Job Summary: The Government
Account Manager will perform Sales duties to maximize MTN market share through
the acquisition, development and retention of both current and new strategic
accounts in the Government and NGO sectors.
Key
Duties and Responsibilities:  
·        
Keep all customers in the account base abreast of
any tariff changes, new products, handsets, and business packages
·        
Instill successful business strategies which meet
MTN Uganda and customer objectives
·        
Provide assessment results on productivity every
quarter
·        
Be able to have constructive engagement with MTN
Uganda staff at all levels (including senior managers) and other parties, if
necessary, to attain the business objectives of MTN Uganda
·        
Master and apply expert knowledge of voice, data
and network technology and associated leading edge solutions and strategies
that are customer-specific with the primary aim of attaining business
objectives
·        
Prepare daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly
reports on sales activities such as number of sales calls to key accounts, key
potentials, problem solving, account growth and development
·        
Ensure proper management of sales activities
·        
Ensure that all appointments are properly
documented in the sales management account database
·        
Make sure that all set targets are met and any
deviations accounted for
·        
Forecast monthly, quarterly and annual revenue
streams and connections
·        
Ensure that all accounts have undergone proper
credit vetting and thereafter monitor performance in line with the credit
vetting policy.
·        
Visit all accounts at least once a month for after
sales and brick walling
·        
Provide invaluable input in the preparation of
quotes, proposals and bids to customers in the Government and NGO sectors
·        
Joint visits with Sales Manager and occasional
EXCO visits to key/strategic customers in the Government and NGO sectors
·        
Work closely with all divisions to ensure service
levels to enterprise customers are adhered to
·        
Ensure that all the assigned Government and NGO
accounts maintain a 90-day ageing on outstanding debts
·        
Ensure that Account Management has up-to-date
process maps/procedures and is compliant with quality requirements
·        
Keenly monitor all documentation and filing with
Sales Administrators to ensure that all call running reports and services
provided are fully documented and filed
·        
Stay abreast with current events especially in the
Government and NGO sectors and highlight key/relevant events to the team
·        
Participate as a member of a cross-functional
project team as and when required
Qualifications,
Skills and Experience:  
·        
The incumbent should preferably hold a Bachelor’s
degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering or equivalent.
·        
At least three years’ experience in account
management or sales environments
·        
Three or more years’ experience with supervising
others
·        
General business experience.
·        
Excellent track record of successfully managing
and selling to commercial accounts
·        
Exposure to strategic planning)
·        
Computer literacy skills i.e. MS Word, Excel,
Windows
·        
Highly developed business negotiation skills
·        
Excellent time management, decision making, human
relations,
·        
Good presentation and organization skills
·        
Professional appearance and presentation required
·        
Strong customer service ethics
·        
Account management and review skills
·        
Good problem solving and negotiation skills
·        
Strong communication and Interpersonal skills
·        
Highly developed analytical skills
·        
Be a good team player
·        
Highly proactive
