About MRC:
The Medical Research Council/ Uganda Virus Research Institute (MRC/UVRI) based at the Uganda Virus Research Institute in Entebbe is a bilateral multi-disciplinary research organization funded by, the Medical Research Council (UK) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Uganda under the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and other donor agencies.
Job Summary: The Clinical Officer will be responsible for the day to day care of patients attending the clinic; will provide comprehensive HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment services to patients.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Attending the GHWP Clinic including offering PMTCT to eligible women
  • Provide STI management
  • Provide general health care to patients
  • Referral of clients with complicated illnesses
  • In charge of client enrolment and follow-up
  • Updating and keeping clinical records and writing activity reports
  • Drawing plans and conducts CME sessions for the clinic staff to build their capacity in HIV/AIDS management
  • Actively participates in the planning and provision of health education to clients
  • Participates in drawing up of clinic work plans and in their implementation
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The successful applicant must have a Diploma of Clinical Medicine from a Recognized institution
  • Three or more years’ working experience in HIV/AIDS & ART care setting or high vulnerable groups and STI management.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills and accurate handling patient records.
  • He/she should be fluent in English and Luganda.
  • GCP training will be an added advantage.
