KfW’s 650 personnel, of which about 190 are specialists in the local
offices, cooperate with partners all over the world. In Uganda, KfW is
currently engaged in the promotion of renewable energy, water and sanitation
and financial sector development.

Key Duties and
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- Develop new projects by regularly
analysing the political and economic
environment and sector developments. - Technically support the project appraisal
process, including due diligence, assignment and steering of consultants,
field trips and preparation of appraisal reports and other required
documentation. - Introduce the portfolio projects and
related procedures and instruments of KfW to the relevant Ugandan
Government Authorities, Project Executing Agencies, Project Consultants
and other Organisations/Companies involved in the projects. - Prepare terms of reference for consulting
assignments related to the portfolio. - Render support in the preparation, negotiation
and management of contracts related to the Portfolio. - Support the portfolio monitoring and
reporting system. - Ensure proper documentation of the
portfolio according to KfW regulations. - Proactively support, interact and
coordinate the portfolio’ correspondence and communication with the
relevant counter parts in Uganda and the region, the German Embassy and
German Technical Cooperation (GIZ) in Kampala, and other Cooperation
partners. - Support missions from the German
Government and KfW Headquarters and Project. - Offer regular feedback to and consult
regularly with the Director and the Project Manager regarding the status
of the portfolio. - Support/generate comprehensive information
on the portfolio for public relations. - Actively participate on behalf of KfW at
sector events.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
Experience:
- The Project Coordinator must hold a
University Degree from a recognized Institution with a qualification in
Project Management. - Possession of a Master’s Degree is an
added advantage. - At least five years’ experience working
either as a consultant or an employee with a multilateral or bilateral
donor organization focusing in the area of financial sector development or
agricultural finance/rural development or economic development in general. - Prior experience working with project
management concepts and tools such as project cycle, M&E, due
diligence and steering of consultancies. - Past exposure and experience interfacing
and communicating with different clients and partners from the private and
public sectors. - Experience working outside Uganda is an
added advantage. - Prior experience working with or in a
multicultural environment is an added advantage. - Extensive knowledge of economics or
business administration. - Knowledge of financial sector development
or agricultural finance/rural sector development or economic development
in general. - Computer literacy skills i.e. working
knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. - Excellent oral and written communication
skills in English. - Excellent analytical and conceptual
thinking skills - Good planning, organization and
coordination skills. - Negotiating skills.
