Job Summary: The  Senior Accountant will provide management
accounting support to all BRAC Uganda Programs that is in line with the
policies and procedures of the Organization. The job holder will also ensure
good financial management according to BRAC Uganda accounting and financial
policies and procedures.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities: 
  • Prepare management
    accounts and Donor reports and ensure reporting deadlines are adhered to.
  • Prepare periodic
    budgetary control statements to determine financial performance of the
    relevant programme and individual projects.
  • Oversee and monitor
    fund balances for various projects of BRAC Uganda.
  • Continuously build
    capacity of the accounts and finance team of BRAC Uganda.
  • Ensure value for money
    for all programme expenditures of BRAC Uganda.
  • Work closely with the
    internal and external auditors of BRAC Uganda.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate
    must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce or closely
    related discipline.
  • Possession of a
    professional qualification – such as CPA (U) , ACCA
  • Three or more years’
    hands-on experience in project, financial and management accounting.
  • Computer literacy
    skills.
  • High degree of
    integrity and confidentiality.
  • Possess the ability to
    work independently and with minimum supervision.
  • Highly flexible in
    handling work assignments and ability to perform under pressure.
  • Excellent
    interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.
