About Us:
The Parliamentary
Commission of Uganda serves the following functions;
  • To appoint,
    promote and exercise disciplinary control over persons holding public
    office in Parliament;
  • To review the
    terms and conditions of service, standing orders, training and
    qualifications  of persons holding office in Parliament;
  • To provide a
    Parliamentary reporting service;
  • To provide such
    other staff and facilities as are required to ensure efficient functioning
    of the Parliament;
  • To cause to be
    prepared in each financial year, estimates of revenue and expenditure for
    the next financial year; and
  • To make
    recommendations to Parliament, or with the approval of Parliament,
    determine the allowances payable and privileges available to the Speaker
    and Members of Parliament.
Job Summary: The Public Affairs
Officer – Camera (Still/Video) will provide video and still picture coverage of
Parliamentary activities, events and ceremonies and maintain a database of
records/recordings for retrieval.
Key Duties &
Responsibilities:
  • Capture video and still pictures of
    Parliamentary activities, events and ceremonies
  • Select the most appropriate pictures for print
    or visual publication
  • Process and present finished work in a format
    or storage required by the recipient
  • Archive and store photo/picture records for
    reference purposes as and when required
  • Provide technical advice on specifications and
    handling of procurements
  • Ensure proper maintenance of the unit’s
    equipment 
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned. 
Qualifications, Skills &
Experience:
  • The applicant should hold an Honours Bachelor’s
    Degree in Mass Communication or Journalism & Communication from a
    recognized University/ Institution 
  • Good digital editing skills
  • Video and still camera handling skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work for long hours with minimum
    supervision
