About Project:
ACDI/VOCA was awarded the USAID-funded PL 480 Title II Development Food
Assistance Program called ‘Resiliency through Wealth, Agriculture, and Nutrition
in Karamoja (RWANU)”, being implemented in Karamoja. Uganda. The RWANU
Project is focusing on two strategic objectives to reduce food insecurity among
vulnerable rural populations in selected sub-counties of Amudat. Moroto, Napak
and Nakapiripirit: (1) improved availability and access to food; and (2)
reduced malnutrition in pregnant and lactating mothers and children under five.
 RWANU is promoting micro and small enterprise development around its key
agriculture and livelihoods development activities. Small grants will be used
to strategically leverage initiatives of production and marketing groups as
well as service and input suppliers towards resolving critical gaps and
inefficiencies in target value chains as well as the growth of the rural enterprises.
Job Summary: The
Small/Micro Enterprise Granting Officer will offer technical support processes
of identification of eligible enterprise oriented groups and small and micro
enterprises to award grants. He/she will ensure the business argument for the
grant investment and the ability of the group/enterprise to effectively use the
grant. The SME will provide training and coaching to the groups as well auto
assist unneeded in development of business plans. He/she will develop MOUs and
grant agreements and assure compliance with relevant terms
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
  • A
    degree in business administration, Agro-business or related subjects
  • Three
    or more years experiences supported creation or growth of commercial
    agriculture production, marketing groups, micro and small enterprises;
  • Experience
    liaising with private sector inputs and services suppliers as well as
    commercial buyers or agricultural and/or related goods;
  • The
    candidate should be a self-starter and ability to work effectively within
    a project team and with government stakeholders;
  • Past
    work experience in the private sector will be an added advantage.
  • Ngakarimojong
    speaker preferred
