the emerging markets, managing over US$4.8bn worth of investment on behalf of
more than 100 institutional investors, including the Commonwealth Development
Corporation (CDC), a UK Government owned company.

Job Summary: The Quality Assurance
Manager will be responsible for developing and maintaining engineering
standards, materials standards, and engineering quality management



Key Duties and
Responsibilities:
  • Ensuring that all new
    Assets meet Umeme standards before reception:-
  • Developing and managing
    Network Construction quality checking programme and procedures for:- Umeme
    Construction, Contractor Construction and 3rd Party Network handover
  • Developing and
    maintaining engineering standards, drawings, work procedures and work
    instructions
  • Specifying materials
    standards for Engineering and ensuring that materials procured and
    supplied meet these standards
  • Developing and managing a
    quality management document control system.
  • Contributing to Asset
    Manager strategies
Qualifications,
Skills and Experience:
  • The candidate should hold
    a Degree in Electrical Engineering with 5 (five) years experience in the industry.
  • Qualification in quality
    assurance standards would be an advantage.
  • Comprehensive knowledge
    of Umeme’s Network and familiarity with materials and operating methods
    and construction standards.
  • Excellent oral and
    written communication skills.
  • Competence in the use of
    computer data management packages, MS ,excel, access
  • Creative in a novel
    department with keenness to learn new ideas and approaches.
  • Capacity to develop and
    grow new organisation.
  • Determination and
    tenacity to see standards delivered
