About UMDPC:
The Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners Council is a statutory body
established by an Act of Parliament, Chapter 272 of 1996 to regulate and
enforce standards of education and practice in Uganda so as to protect society
from harmful effects of malpractice.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Authenticate applications for registration
    and licensing,
  • Coordinate the in-flow of data from
    individual professionals and supervisors, verify and enter it into the
  • Verify entered data to ensure accuracy and
    compliance with set standards
  • Maintain data integrity, confidentiality
    and efficient operations by following laid down policies and procedures,
  • Prepare an updated list of all registered
    and licensed professionals and health facilities for publication in the
  • Develop and review a database for all
    Allied Health Professional registrants, licensed private health facilities
    and accredited health training Institutions in the country,
  • Ensure an up-to-date register, viii. Make
    authorized changes in the registers.
  • Perform other duties incidental to the
    above assigned from time to time by the supervisor
Qualifications, Skills and
  • The applicant should possess a Bachelor’s
    degree in records and archives management, Bachelors of Library &
    Information Science from a recognized institution.
  • Knowledgeable about the different database
    information systems and use of software packages,
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality,
  • The candidates must have at least 3 years
    of relevant working experience.
