Job Summary: The Procurement
Officer will coordinate and supervise the lawful process of effective and
efficient procurement. She/he will report to the Administrator of GHU.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare
and review purchase orders and contracts and assist in the selection of appropriate
suppliers and contractors, to promote good procurement practices with due
regard to sustainability, ethical purchasing standards and whole life costing. - Supervise
the custody of all procurement records and files of the unit. - Confer
with accounts payable to ensure that service providers are paid in a
timely manner. - Review
and submit procurement and disposal reports to the relevant
authorities. - Assist
the Administrator in providing logistical and administrative services to projects
under GHU
Experience:
- The
candidate should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Procurement and Logistics management/Procurement
and Supplies Chain management from a recognized University/Institution. - A
minimum of two (2) years relevant procurement experience preferably in a
busy organisation. - Demonstrated
understanding of public procurement laws of Uganda. - Good
interpersonal and communication skills and able to work with a
multiplicity of stakeholders. - Must
have excellent computer, writing, presentation, negotiation and report
writing skills. - Ability
to pay attention to detail. - Experience
in administration in a busy work environment will be an added
advantage.
Terms: One year contract
