Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Defining technical solutions based upon the Customer requirement with MSA scope.
  • Assessing server, storage and infrastructure sizing including capacity and performance.
  • Problem & root cause identification of critical and reoccurring issues.
  • Best practice implementation in domain.
  • Defining data center hardware configurations to meet application requirements including servers, storage, data center networks, and load balancing and clustering services based upon according to architecture standards.
  • Reviewing and evaluating current provided services, including monitoring, for service improvements. This activity will include updating event thresholds and turning event and incident correlation.
  • Provide technical oversight and support teams by leading high level/impact incidents to drive to conclusion and add to root cause analysis. Also may be responsible for the development of resolutions for systemic issues.
  • Establishing and maintaining a relationship with the client’s GM & CIO and technical leadership to understand the client’s technology landscape, business needs and direction.
  • Working with IT teams to ensure application requirements are understood and translated to technical solutions. Technical solutions should consider the operational support requirements to ensure they meet operational standards.  
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
·         Experience with integration of heterogeneous technology environments as well as maintaining operational management across coexistent multiple generations of technology in an enterprise data center environment
  • Seven or more years data Center Operational Support experience 
  • Ability to set direction and lead technical staff to design and deliver Service Improvement projects.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to interface with Sr. Managers
  • High level understanding of Unix/Linux/ Oracle Linux with operational support and architectural support with 7+ years’ experience
  • Architectural and operational knowledge of Sun Solaris/ based systems, Solaris 10/11.
  • Extensive knowledge in backup, restore, and archival technologies
  • Shell scripting knowledge and Automation of repeated tasks using scripts.
  • OS hardening & Implementation of security patches
  • Managing Disk space, Processor Utilization, Network Utilization related to server.
  • Implementing Hardware and Software RAID levels through Solaris Volume Manager /Linux LVM.
  • ZFS volume management in Solaris. Experience in VERITAS Volume manager.
  • Experience in Solaris Zones & LDOMs. Solaris/Linux Virtualization using P2V conversion.
  • Patch management in Solaris/ Linux.
  • Core Knowledge on hardware Sun Blades & M, T series servers/ Intel Blades servers.
  • Processing and resolving support service requests & Evaluating and reporting system performance.
  • Has experience developing and supporting Disaster Recovery architecture, strategies, and implementations.
  • Experience in Unix shell scripting and automation.
  • IT Systems monitoring experience with Nagios, Solar Winds, Uptime and other monitoring tools.
  • Proficiency in Service Management: ITIL Certification is mandatory
  • Technically sound, able to understand the customer needs and project requirements
  • Planning and Execution abilities
