Job Summary: The Programme Assistant will conduct a variety of tasks including collecting information, monitoring, technical and administrative services in support of programme activities under a moderate scope.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Organize data and information and prepare and maintain records, documents and control plans for the monitoring of project / programme implementation.
  • Verify plans of operations, exchange letters and take appropriate follow-up action, assist in processing government requests.
  • Contribute to report preparation, project documents and submissions to Government by providing required information.
  • Prepare background information to aid discussions with government and other stakeholders.
  • Do specific administrative operational control tasks for project /programme activities.
  • Offer administrative / logistical support during meetings and / or workshops.
  • Take notes, draft routines and non-technical correspondence formats and type a wide variety of materials in the cluster using different computer software like MS Word, Excel, Lotus, etc.
  • Perform other administrative tasks as assigned by the superiors. 
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The programme assistant should have completed secondary education, preferably supplemented by formal training in relevant technical courses in a field related to the organizational work.
  • Six years work clerical or administrative work experience of which at least one year is closely related to support of programme activities.
  • Good command of written and spoken English.
