About
NARO:
The National Agricultural
Research Organisation (NARO) is established by the National Agricultural
Research Act 2005 as a body corporate responsible for the coordination and
oversight of all aspects of agricultural research in Uganda.
Job
Summary:  The Senior Quality Assurance Officer will be
responsible for facilitating the development of standard operating procedures
and guidelines for research and administration in NARO.



Key
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop,
    disseminate and update quality assurance standards and guidelines for the
    management and delivery of research service
  • Design
    and implement quality management training programs for scientists and
    technicians.
  • Guide
    the process of developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)and
    guidelines for research and administration;
  • Develop
    guidelines for SOP preparation, approval, tracking, review, and archival;
  • Develop
    a system for monitoring compliance with agreed standards;
  • Register
    and maintain a database of Agricultural Research Service Providers;
  • Develop
    a document control systems for all agreed SOPs;
  • Vet
    research projects for compliance with SOP requirements and checklists
    prior to funding;
  • Performing
    any other duties as shall be officially assigned.
Qualifications,
Skills & Experience:
  • Possession
    of a masters degree in biological sciences, agricultural economics,
    agribusiness or Business Administration.
  • At
    least  five (5) years of relevant
    quality planning and management experience in a busy organization
  • Experience
    in training on and standards and quality compliance.
  • Proven
    experience and ability to manage people, processes and technology.
