Uganda’s largest automotive distributors with a wide customer base across
Eastern Africa. In its quest to remain competitive and provide excellent sales
and after sales services to customers, the company has embarked on a number of
initiatives aimed at repositioning itself as a lead player in the automotive
industry. This transformation has created opportunities for individuals with
the drive to contribute to this exciting journey.
The Sales and
Marketing Manager will be responsible for ensuring optimum vehicle and
equipment stocks at premises, on order and focused production while controlling
budget within the sales function.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Participate
    in formulating marketing plans, initiating and conducting new vehicles and
    equipment launches and promotions;
  • Propose
    special sales promotions as appropriate.
  • Ensure
    adequate stocks of POSM for all brands at all times as recommended by
  • Maintain
    direct liaison with manufacturers’ representatives and all other contracts
  • Analyse
    local customer/vehicle preference statistics and compare with new and used
    car forecasts, acting on any anomalies detected
  • Participate
    in the review of all pricing policies, discounts and “trade-in” dealings
    to maintain profitability
  • Monitor
    the sales function financial performance on a weekly and monthly basis
  • Monitor
    outstanding debtor situation and take appropriate action
  • Handle
    customer complaints and ensuring corrective action is taken
  • Maintain
    records of customer complaints or commendations for analysis and use as
  • Work
    with the human resources function to continuously establish the staffing
    levels and identifying and implementing departmental training needs
  • Ensure
    staff in the sales team are motivated and retained through management of
    the company’s performance management system
Skills & Experience:
  • Possess
    a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or a related field.
  • A
    post graduate qualification in management or related field is an added
  • He/she
    should have a minimum of seven years Sales and Marketing experience, three
    of which must be at management level.
  • Ability
    to manage and administer a function and to provide organisation, systems
    and leadership to achieve objectives is a must.
