Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The Driver should hold a Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) with minimum of Division 3 or equivalent;
  • Clean driving permits for both commercial and public service vehicles;
  • Five years continuous accident free driving;
  • Report of good conduct;
  • Knowledge of motor vehicle repair; must be proficient in written and spoken English;
  • Proficiency in Kiswahili language is an added advantage, and must be between 30 - 50 years of age.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Plans and implements activities and/or facilitates implementation of education & wash projects
  • Charged with monitoring and reporting of projects in line with donor requirements

  • Contributes to preparation and planning of projects and provide input for new proposals

Job Summary: The Environment Coordinator, under the responsibility of the Country Director, will in charge of the coordination and smooth implementation of the Environment program in Uganda.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1.      Team Management:
  • Main representative for International Lifeline Fund-Environment towards local authorities, humanitarian actors, partners, private entities and donors;
  • Participate actively to coordinate information meetings (clusters, NGO coordination, etc.) in Kampala and in Lira when necessary;
  • Represent ILF, its environmental activities and programs during field delegation visits.
  • Preparation of monthly reports and contribution to proposals as needed.
  • Responsible for supervising the Environment team of local staff personnel and providing guidance to expat volunteers;
  • Ensure the daily management and coordination of your team (program objectives, action plan, (set-up weekly coordination meetings with the PM and program senior officers), staff appraisal, etc.);
  • Ensure that communication for all departments in relation to the Environment Uganda team is streamlined;
2.     Environment Program Coordination:
  • Ensure the smooth implementation of the Environment projects with respect to proposal commitments in terms of quantity and quality (methodologies, indicators and results follow-up);
  • Responsible for the transparency of acquisition, utilization and follow-up of all materials, equipment and cash dedicated to the projects;
  • Coordinate field visits on activity sites;
  • Inform and update the Country Director of any relevant issue related to the project implementation;
  • Responsible for the supervision of Monitoring and Evaluation for Environment projects;
  • Ensure a weekly and monthly reporting on program activities from your PM(s) as well as ensure the reporting of all monthly program activities to the Country Director, as well as upon his/her solicitation;
  • Ensure that all programs are working towards same goals and objectives – creating a comprehensive environment program in Uganda.
3.     Coordination of Carbon credit Program:
  • Serve as primary point of contact for ILF’s primary carbon credit partner, Uganda Carbon Bureau (UCB) – includes monthly reporting and regularly scheduled meetings
  • Compile and maintain accurate figures on the costs and numbers of stove production
  • Project and track costs of future carbon credit project
  • Design and manage a dynamic digital stove-tracking database to accurately record and track all stoves sold
  • Develop, manage and refine a stove-tracking system that uses a mix of both hard copy (paper) and soft copy (digital, including mobile phones) to capture data on the individual purchasers of each stove
  • Work with current and future stove vendors to implement the above systems through trainings
  • Oversee that the collection of stove sales data
  • Develop stove warrantee, maintenance, and buy-back systems
  • Developing incentives for vendor monitoring, that is complimentary to carbon credit monitoring requirements
4.     Stove Commercialization and Production:
  • Work closely with the Senior Commercialization Officer to expand the commercialization activities in Kampala
  • Oversee the marketing activities for Kampala market and provide guidance to Commercialization Officers in both locations.
  • Leading commercialization strategy and management on a daily basis
  • Participating in the regular evaluation of activities and performance
  • Providing monthly planning for relevant program purchases
  • Presenting new marketing and distribution ideas to Environmental PM in Lira
  • Capacity building of local vendors
  • Ensuring consistency and quality standards are met in stove production
  • In coordination with the commercialization department, develop and update marketing materials. 
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The applicant should posses a Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent experience is required. Graduate level degree will be an added advantage.
  • Five to seven years experience in international relief and development is required, at least three years supervisory experience is required.
  • Experience in proposal writing, project design, and monitoring and evaluation is required.
  • Experience in fuel-efficient stove sector, water/sanitation desirable and/or organizational development highly desirable
  • A driven self-starter, high energy level, quick performer, analytical, creative and responsible
  • Native English speaker, Spanish and/or French a plus

Job Summary:  The Deputy Director, Legal & Corporate Affairs will provide and coordinate legal services for and offer guidance to UWA in line with the Uganda Wildlife Act. Cap 200 of 2000, UWA Mission and other relevant Laws.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Prepare pleadings and appear in court on behalf of UWA in line with established legal procedure
  • Propose legal advice as and when required on various matters arising out of the day-to-day operations of Uganda Wildlife Authority.

  • Ensures that agenda, minutes and notices of the UWA Board of Trustees are prepared in time in line with existing statute and procedures manual

  • Ensures the preparation and proper execution and registration of legal documentation between Uganda Wildlife Authority, stakeholders and its clients and other third parties ensuring UWA interests
  • Ensures that gaps if any in Wildlife policies and laws, Regulations are identified and recommendations to the supervisor or relevant authorities are made for consideration.
  • Conduct any other official duties as may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor/ OR Management from time to time. 
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The Deputy Director should hold a Masters Degree in Law from a recognized University, specializing in commercial or company law.
  • Possess a Diploma in Legal Practice qualification, Administration and Management is an added advantage, should be registered with the Uganda Law Society with a valid practicing certificate.
  • Five or more years working experience in legal practice, two of which should be  in a prominent and busy company or organization.
  • Good knowledge of the principles and practices of company law or commercial law and procedures guiding public sector.
  • Good knowledge of legal practice, good observer, listener and a careful analytical person.

Job Summary: The Coordinator Agriculture will be charged with building the capacity of Networks/Agri business clusters and linking them to the private sector. The coordinator will work closely with CEFORD Project Officers that are working on Training and coaching of farmers under the same project. The coordinator will ensure activities are planned, organized and monitored following approved project plans.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Implements activities as described in the project proposal based on ZOA’s country policy
  • Carries out training needs assessments and develops trainings for farmers in the project.
  • Organize trainings, study tours, study circles and key stakeholder meetings for the farmer groups.
  • Ensures implementation and monitoring of the project in line with donor requirements
  • Organizes meetings with relevant stakeholders in liaison with CEFORD Project officers in order to build and maintain relations.
    Reports on the project progress on a monthly basis.
  • Establishes Village Based Information Systems, Farmers resource Centres and District Agro Business Clusters
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The Coordinator should hold a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Agriculture, agriculture Economics or other relevant field.
  • At least 3 years successful experience in a similar position and/or agricultural extension services

Our community based programme in Uganda concentrates on Food Security, Livelihoods/ Economic Development, Vocational Training, Education and WASH in close cooperation with local organizations and local government. This year ZOA will embark on a new multi-year project “Agri Skills 4 You” (hereafter AS4Y) funded by the Dutch Government and coordinated by ICCO/KIA to develop skills among farmers and youth for market–oriented agriculture in West Nile region. The objective of the project is increased income and improved food security for rural households in West Nile. Currently the project falls under the ZOA Nwoya programme. The project will be implemented in partnership with the Ugandan NGO CEFORD.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Plans and implements activities and/or facilitates implementation of AS4Y project (agro-business, vocational training and youth development).
  • Organization and capacity building of CEFORD and Vocational Training Institutes
  • Oversees, stimulates and motivates coordinators
  • Responsible for monitoring and reporting of projects in line with donor requirements
  • Manages finances and expenditures according to the budget
  • Contributes to preparation and planning of projects and provide input for new proposals
  • Stimulates good team spirit and Christian Values among programme staff and partners.
  • Build and maintains good relationships with local authorities, other organizations and actors linking to the relevant sector.
  • The Manger will be a member of the Technical Taskforce and regional Committee 
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The Manager should hold a Degree in Agriculture, Adult Education, Development studies, or other relevant field
  • A minimum of four years project management experience
  • Good management, planning, communication, writing and facilitation skills
  • Excellent command of English
  • Extensive experience in working in the agro-business sector and BTVET
  • Innovative, creative and enthusiastic person (able to develop the best approach)
  • Computer literacy skills
  • Self motivator, having the ability to work with limited supervision
  • Experience in working with partners and project cycle management
  • Mature personality, who enjoys working with little supervision in a dynamic environment. (S)he should have the ability to endure some hardship.

About ZOA:

Job Summary: The Coordinator will be responsible for mentoring the Vocational Training Institutes and support CEFORD in skills development of youth. The Coordinator will also play a supporting role to the Project Manager AS4Y. The Coordinator will work closely with CEFORD’s Project Officers that are working on coaching of youth. The Coordinator will ensure activities are planned, organized and monitored following approved project plans.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Implements activities as described in the project proposal based on ZOA’s country policy
  • Coaching of Vocational Training Institutions
  • Support and ensure quality of youth related activities
  • Support the Project Manager in Trainings of Trainers
  • Ensures implementation and monitoring of the project in line with donor requirements
  • Give reports on the project progress on a monthly basis.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • The Coordinator should posses a Degree or Diploma in Agriculture Economics, Education, Adult education, Development studies or other relevant field.
  • A minimum of three years working experience in a similar position
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in working in the vocational training sector and familiar with BTVET polices
  • Competence in working with youth.
  • Excellent communication, writing and facilitation skills in English and preferably a local language of the West Nile sub-region
  • Innovative, creative and enthusiastic person (able to develop the best approach)
  • Computer literacy skills
     Self motivator, having the ability to work with limited supervision
  • Ability to work in an innovative environment where plans are developed fast and open for change
  • Ability and skills to coordinate projects in communities that have hosted Internally Displaced People/refugees
  • Able to ride a motorcycle with a valid driving/riding license
