Christian non-governmental organization running Programs that seek to eliminate
Poverty Housing in several areas in Uganda.
Job
Summary:
The Social
Worker will play the lead role in overseeing Habitat for Humanity Uganda’s
programs for HIV and other vulnerable children in the respective Communities
the position calls for a high level of, collaboration, networking at local and
District level.
Qualifications,
Skills & Experience:
  • A
    minimum of a Diploma in social work or
    its equivalent (additional qualifications are
    an added advantage).
  • Proven
    field based experience In coordinating HIV/ AIDS, OVC or related
    programs.
  • At
    least 3 years of NGO project/program related implementation and
    management preferably within the HIV/AIDS sector.
  • Understanding
    of HIV/AIDS’ OVC    programming/debates and knowledge
    of similar programs in the country.
  • Experience
    in networking, advocacy and lobbying with the local level government
    and other organization.
  • Ability
    to work and live in rural setting.
  • Ability
    to ride a motorcycle and evidence of a rider’s license.
  • Excellent
    interpersonal communication skills.
  • Computer
    and Facilitation skills.
  • High
    level of integrity and ability to make bold and timely decision.
  • Ability
    to communicate in the local language of the community.
  • Ability
    to work under a deadline and pressure.
  • Ability
    to take initiatives to advance me program.
  • Strong
    written and verbal communication in English and knowledge of the
    local language spoken in any of the target districts will be
    required.
  • Proven
    experience in participatory monitoring and evaluation.
  • Ability
    to work with minimum supervision.
