largest Independent and experienced conservation organizations operating in
over 100 countries in the world WWF UCO implements a number of national
programmes promoting environment conservation in Uganda. The applicants in
addition to the specific job requirements below must have demonstrated a high
level of integrity and honesty, and- excellent communication and interpersonal
skills. S/he must be a team player and ready to travel outside his/her own
workstation. S/he must adhere to WWF-UCO values of “Knowledgeable, Optimistic,
Determined and Engaging”.
Key
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • ·        
    Plan
    and implement Renewable Energy programme interventions of WWF UCO.
  • ·        
    Supervises
    relevant implementing CSOs and SMEs to ensure quality outputs and conservation
    impacts;
  • ·        
    Supports
    District local governments, local CSOs and cultural and religious institutions
    to actively engage in renewable energy initiatives:
  • ·        
    Prepares
    training courses and seminars for a variety of partners and stakeholders on
    renewable energy and related aspects;
  • ·        
    Develops
    policy recommendations, fact, sheets, briefs, press articles, and other media
    tools to promote  renewable energy and energy efficiency in Uganda;
  • ·        
    Designs
    and implements monitoring and evaluation plan for WWF UCO renewable energy
    projects;
  • ·        
    Prepares detailed
    and timely technical progress reports on the project, according to WWF
    standards.

Qualifications,
Skills & Experience:
  • ·        
    A
    minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Renewable Energy, Mechanical Engineering,
    Environmental Science or other relevant course
  • ·        
    Experience
    in environmental and natural resource management is an added advantage;
  • ·        
    Preferred
    competences:
  • ·        
    Experience
    in implementing renewable energy projects (including biomass cook-stoves, solar
    PV, small hydro-power, biogas, etc) is an added advantage;
  • ·        
    Experience
    in implementing community mobilization, broad-based awareness raising,
    advocacy, lobbying and capacity building (e.g. training, workshop facilitation
    and capacity building) is preferable;
  • ·        
    Experience
    in non-renewable energy (e.g. oil and gas) development issues is an added advantage;
  • ·        
    Experience
    in managing capacity building) is preferable;
  • ·        
    Experience
    in non-renewable energy (e.g. oil and gas) development issues is an added
    advantage;
  • ·        
    Experience
    in managing donor funded conservation or natural resource management projects
    is an added advantage; Computer literacy, familiarity with GIS
    applications Knowledge and ability and /or experience in development of
    fundable project proposals desirable.
