Job Summary: The Project Manager will
provide overall leadership and management of the MNCH project in line with
Ministry of Health and World Vision International global programming policies
and guidelines.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Identify and build strategic networks with other actors
    to support the district in
    implementation of MNCH strategies including Malaria and Nutrition
    programming, community systems strengthening and Health Advocacy
  • Provide overall leadership, management and guidance to
    the development of project designs and Annual Operation Plans of EAMNCH
    project and technical advice to other nutrition projects
  • Work in cooperation with the Ministry of Health to
    improve government interventions in the area of MNCH and nutrition
  • Representation and advocacy for World Vision and other
    MNCH/nutrition programming at National Level forums
  • Work with line World Vision staff and district partners
    to technically interpret the MNCH technical approaches in the EAMNCH
    proposal to facilitate implementation of key activities.
  • Strengthen the Internal coordination with other World
    Vision projects in the district such as HIV/AIDS, Food security and WASH
  • Provide technical guidance to the field team and monitor
    implementation of MNCH activities
  • Ensure World Vision’s institutional learning and
    experiences in MNCH activities feed into EAMNCH’s program development and
    vice versa.
  • Facilitate effective monitoring, documentation and
    reporting, incompliance with agreed standards
  • Manage, supervise and build capacity of staff in project
    development, management and implementation.
  • Manage project finances and assets
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
  • Degree in Nursing, Environmental Health, Public Health
    or any related discipline.
  • Has experience in 
    and an in-depth understanding of working with the Ministry of
    Health and Local Governments
  • At least 3 years of technical health project management
    experience in nutrition programming, preferably focused on maternal,
    newborn and child health.
  • Has experience in working with communities with good
    knowledge of Public Health System and structures
  • Strong policy analysis and advocating skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a facilitative and
    participative approach. 
  • Superior communication skills – ability to coordinate
    people at all levels – government partners, donors, communities and staff
    with diplomacy, tact and collaboration.
  • Good budget management skills 
  • A mature and committed Christian, able to stand above
    denominational diversities.
