Trade Finance Officer Job at Centenary Bank
Reports to: Manager, International Department
Centenary Bank, the leading Commercial Microfinance Bank in Uganda seeks to recruit suitably qualified, experienced and competent persons in the following fields;
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
· To implement strategies for utilization of Trade Finance products and services across portfolios line with the banks business plan.
· Receive all inward / Export and outward / Import Letters of Credit, construct SWIFT messages on all new outward LCs and Promptly collect charges , advise parties on the maturity of bills and maintain record in line with bank policy.
· Receive and Maintain an updated register for all Local letters of credit (LCs), advise the beneficiaries (customers) on new LCs / amendments and credit customer accounts when the reimbursing bank sends payment within one working day;
· Check Trade Finance documents to ensure conformity to terms & conditions of the contract and Trade Finance regulations.
· Generate report metrics capturing business volumes, values, commissions and trends across all Trade Finance products.
· Liaise with Business Growth department to implement Trade Finance Product and sales plan in line with the bank’s business plan.
· Conduct training and sensitization on trade finance products to bank staff, customers and potential customers in line with the bank work plan and the training calendar.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
· Honour’s Degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, Statistics and other relevant courses from a recognized University.
· 3 years experience in trade finance related activities in a banking environment,
· Knowledge of Key Risks and internal controls in a Banking environment.
· Strong knowledge of trade finance products,
· Strong communication and Interpersonal skills
· Understanding trade finance regulatory requirements.
