Job Summary: The position holder will be responsible for coordinating community networks and offering technical support to health facilities through mentorship of clinicians, nurse counsellors, lay counsellors/expert clients, VHTs, and ensuring that their activities are supportive of the prevention Community programme. S/he will also coordinate the referrals and linkages to services with the community networks including HBCT.
About Mildmay:
Mildmay Uganda is an HIV/AIDS treatment and training centre also providing Health Systems Strengthening to scale up comprehensive HIV/AIDS Services in 16 districts of Central Uganda. Situated on Entebbe Road, Lweza, south of Kampala, Mildmay Uganda is seeking applications from experienced and motivated people interested in a rewarding career undertaking the challenging roles.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
·         Bachelors Degree in Counseling; Clinical/Community Psychology; Community health or Nursing with diploma in counseling
S/he must have at least 3 years’ practical experience in counseling/community health work with experience in HIV/AIDS care.
·         He/she must have knowledge of Ministry of Health and District health systems;
·         MARPS Strategies with ability to demonstrate and mentor in HIV/AIDS counseling and prevention
·         Good communication and interpersonal skills.
·         Proficiency in various MS office packages and working knowledge of English and local language(s) are crucial.
·         Hard working, trust-worthy, and holding the highest levels of integrity and confidentiality.
·         Must be flexible, reliable, able to work under pressure; and in sympathy with the Christian values of Mildmay Uganda.
·         Evidence of a non-judgemental approach regarding race, religion, culture, sexuality and lifestyle is critical.
