About UNMC:
The Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council (UNMC) is a statutory professional body responsible for the regulation of the nursing and midwifery profession in Uganda. Our mission is to set and regulate standards of training and practice, register and enroll nurses and midwives and provide professional guidance for public safety.
Job Summary: To manage financial transactions including income and expenditure accounts and ensuring accountability in line with financial regulations.
Key Result Areas:
The incumbent will be responsible for:
·         Advising on financial decisions of the council.
·         Managing the financial resources, including advising on income and expenditure.
·         Providing technical support in planning, and budgeting process.
·         Furnishing management with accountabilities for all financial transaction.
·         Providing management with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
·         Ensuring that all financial records and books of accounts, including bank reconciliation statements are regularly updated.
·         Supervising departmental staff.
·         Ensuring timely payments for goods and services provided to the council.
·         Any other duties as assigned from time to time, in relation to the position.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
·         Bachelors degree in Commerce (Accounting option), or Business Administration (with a bias in Accounting), or Economics from a recognized University.
·         A Post-graduate diploma in financial management or Accounting (Desirable).
·         A professional training in ACCA or CPA is an added advantage;
·         Computer knowledge of Accounting or Econometric packages is key.
·         A continuous experience of 2 years working in a similar post is desirable.
·         Confidentiality and ethical conduct.
·         Analytical skills,
·         Good interpersonal skills,
·         Ability to write concise report,
·         Ability to summarize large amounts of information into simple reports,
·         Good communication skills,
·         Accountability.
