About UNMC:
The Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council (UNMC) is a statutory professional body responsible for the regulation of the nursing and midwifery profession in Uganda. Our mission is to set and regulate standards of training and practice, register and enroll nurses and midwives and provide professional guidance for public safety.
Job Summary: To facilitate the identification collection, processing dissemination and storage of requisite data for the Council.
Key Result Areas:
·         Developing and reviewing policies pertaining to data and research in the Council.
·         Initiating efficient systems for data collection and storage;
·         Developing research proposals for the Council and Stakeholders.
·         Producing reports on various data issues as requested by Management.
·         Developing tools for conducting surveys.
·         Participating in planning and budgeting functions of the Council.
·         Advising on the necessary adjustments or improvements pertaining to data and research.
·         Identifying and proposing to Management the appropriate technological soft and hardware to be used in data management.
·         Keeping and updating an inventory of all equipment and tools used in research and data Management.
·         In charge of all Information Communication Technology (ICT) issues.
·         Any other duty as may be assigned.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
·         An Honors Bachelors Degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Applied Economics from a recognized University.   
·         Post graduate diploma in a related field as an added advantage.
·         Must have served for at least 3 (three) years in a similar or related position in a busy Organisation
·         Previous experience managing cooperate research and data management is desirable.
·         Knowledge of modern information technology applications and Methods (SQL, Programming, etc).
·         Research planning and Analytical Skills.
·         Ethical and confidentiality traits.
·         Teamwork.
·         Interpersonal skills.
·         Ability to produce concise reports.
