Our client is an international NGO and has a proven track record of success in developing and implementing large-scale local economic and workforce development programs as well as financial services and sustainable resources programs worldwide. The Uganda Learn, Earn and Save Program (U-LEARN) is a project run by our client, in partnership with the MasterCard Foundation. The Learning, Earning and Saving Initiative demonstrates that effective market-oriented skills development, and access to finance for business start-ups can be a key lever to support disadvantaged youth tap into economic opportunities and create a sustainable livelihood.

Our client is looking to recruit a suitably qualified Ugandan for the position of Project Manager for Skills Development, in charge of the U-LEARN project. The successful candidate will be based in Kampala, but will be expected to occasionally travel to the four regions in Uganda where the project operates.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
·         Plan, manage and implement skills development projects as contracted and allocated, in line with the organization’s mission, regulations and objectives.
·         Further development of skills development content within the Uganda program.
·         Actively support the business development function in the region with market intelligence and opportunity assessment for new projects and sponsors.
·         Provide skills development content for establishing expressions of interest, concept notes, proposals for new projects and sponsors.
·         Identify, advise and support partner organizations in their organizational development, capacity building and development of skills development curricula.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
·         Advanced degree in economics, sociology or related subject.
·         Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in skills development/education.
·         Demonstrate a high level of integrity
·         Demonstrated maturity in management of teams and complex projects.
·         Local and international knowledge in managing a project.
·         The ideal candidate for this position should have a good understanding of capacity building approaches from a local and international perspective and should be able to work well under pressure, provide accurate and timely results and be open to travel in and out of the country
