Banking Jobs – Director Human Resources & Administration at UDBL

Salary Scale:  UDBL2
Location of Post:    Head Office
Reports to:            Chief Executive Officer
Supervises:             Staff in the Department of Human Resources and Administration.
Job Summary: To develop skilled, committed and well-motivated staff and monitor all Human Resource activities, assets and infrastructure in line with the UDBL Business objectives  and physical development policies.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Strategic Direction 
·         Contribute to the achievement of the Bank’s business objectives by providing advice and guidance on strategy
·         Initiate the development of strategies that will support the achievement of organizational mission, core values and business objectives
·         Provide ongoing advice to Board members on Human Resources and Administration issues.
·         Continuously evaluate strategic direction to confirm alignment with Bank objectives.
Stakeholder Management
·         Identify all key stakeholders for the Human Resources and Administration  processes
·         Identify relevant and thorny issues and devise a plan to address them
·         Continuously communicate with stakeholders to improve Bank  image
Human Resources Management
·         Carry out HR planning, recruitment and selection process in line with UDBL recruitment policy
·         Develop, monitor and implement the training & development function in line with the UDBL training policy
·         Develop, implement and review a welfare system in line with UDBL HR Manual.
·         Plan, Budget for the Annual HR activities and review HR unit budget in line with the Annual operations Plan and the UDBL Finance and Accounting policies.
·         Initiate, develop, review and implement the HR Policies and procedures in line with the UDBL corporate values
·         Initiate, facilitate and implement change management initiatives in line with the UDBL business and strategic plan
Administration
·         Develop, implement and review asset management and maintenance system policies in line with UDBL corporate values
·         Plan, prepare, implement and review Asset and Infrastructure management function budget in line with the UDBL  Finance and accounting policies
·         Initiate, implement, monitor and review strategies and plans for UDBL office space and facilities requirements provision.
·         Initiate the Planning, preparation and review of all staff travel and transport logistics and requirements budget in line with the Finance and accounting policies.
·         Initiate, implement and monitor all UDBL suppliers, vendors and service providers’ contract agreements for all HR and general administration functions.
·         Initiate the preparation, implementation and review of records management and maintenance for the Bank HR and general administration functions.
Key Result Areas:
·         Draws out and ensures that the bank’s property business development design and activities are in compliance with the mandates of the organization’s strategic direction.
·         Participates in preparing the business plan of the UDBL and assists in implementing the plan approved by the Board.
·         Manages and supervises the bank’s daily operations in the Administration Department.
·         Safeguards all the physical properties and resources of UDBL and is responsible for the general maintenance of all UDBL properties.
·         Designs systems and standards to guide the management in monitoring and maintenance of the bank’s physical assets.
·         Provides periodic progress reports detailing the operations of the Bank’s property portfolio.
Minimum Qualifications, Skills and Training
·         Bachelors in Social work and Social Administration, Human Resources, Psychology, or relevant field.
·         Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management, MBA or Industrial Psychology is a MUST.
·         ICSA will be added advantage
Minimum Experience: Eight years in management in a similar environment in a financial institution with three years’ experience in preparation and presentation of relevant Board papers.

·         Knowledge of management philosophies
·         Business understanding
·         Good managerial / supervisory skills.
·         Knowledge of HR processes, e.g. performance management, disciplinary processes, etc.
·         Good interpersonal skills
