Job Title: Zonal Coordinator
Reports to: Head Decentralized Response
Salary scale: UAC5
Responsible for: Zonal Field Officers.
Purpose of the Job: To provide a linkage between Uganda AIDS Commission (UAC) and Local Govern­ments in coordinating the implementation of the national strategic plan for HIV/AIDS in assigned regions.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • To supervise HIV/AIDS interventions under taken by Local Governments.
  • To coordinate Regional advocacy and communication initiatives.
  • To provide technical support to the decentralized coordination structures in order to perform their functions.
  • To support Local Governments in preparation of Work plans and budgets for HIV/AIDS.
  • To supervise and appraise the Zonal Coordination staff in the respective region.
  • To monitor implementation of HIV/AIDS zonal work plans.
  • To submit annual Zonal Coordination Work plans and budgets to the Head -Decentralized Response.
  • To coordinate District and or regional HIV fora and events.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • A Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, B.Com, statistics, economics, Social Sciences or Humanities from a recognized institution
  • A Post graduate qualification in Public Administration or Management / Development Studies from a recognized institution.
  • A Masters degree would be an added advantage.
Experience
  • A minimum of Four (4) years’ experience in a management position in Government or a reputable organization.
  • Experience with Local Governments is an added advantage.
