Senior Registration Officer Employment (Intellectual Property)

The Uganda Registration Services Bureau seeks to recruit suitable qualified, competent, and experienced professionals to fill vacancies within various directorates and departments
Reports to: Manager, Intellectual Property
·         Assists the Manager to register patents, trademarks, copyrights, industrial designs, and other intellectual property rights.
·         Draft correspondences and search reports and attend Court matters.
·         Adjudicate opposition proceedings.
·         Quality assurance of statutory requirements and issue notices for compliance and enforcement.
·         Assessment of Non Tax Revenue. Supervision and quality assurance of the registers, operational manuals and
·         automated data index.
·         Any other duties assigned by the Manager and Director.
Qualification and Experience:
·         Honors Degree in Law and a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice.
·         Should have a minimum of 5 years working experience from a legal related institution.
Key Outputs:
·         Trademarks, copyrights, geographical indications, registered.
·         Assignments transfers, opposition proceedings.
·         Returns and all statutory compliance documents filed in time.
·         Correspondences responded to timely.
·         NTR assessed.
Personal Specification:
·         Computer literacy skills, legal advocacy and interpersonal skills.
