Job Title: Program Manager
Educate! develops young leaders and entrepreneurs in Africa. Educate! provides a proven mix of a leadership and entrepreneurship course, long-term mentoring, and practical experience starting an enterprise for ‘A’ level students.
Educate! is working with 3,600 diverse youth across Uganda, growing to a staff of 53 in just four years, and has already incorporated its curriculum into Uganda’s national education system to reach 25,000 students annually. The organization has received the Ashoka Fellowship and several international awards and grants, proving out a program model that can be replicated across Africa.
Program Manager Position Overview
Educate! is seeking an ambitious, strategic, and organized Program Manager to manage the implementation of the Educate! Experience program at 40 secondary schools across Uganda. The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years work experience, managed a team of field staff, and possess strong people management and development skills. The position reports to the Program Director.
Performance Objectives
Program Strategy & Planning: Creates yearly strategic plan based on M&E data and research, programmatic challenges, and mentor and program coordinator feedback.
Staff Professional Development: Increase the capacity of 3 Program Coordinators in management and 13 field staff In best practices of youth development.
Program Reporting & Development: Communicate and use regular project and student performance reports to improve program effectiveness.
Partnership Coordination: Ensure strong school partnerships and consistent feedback loops between field staff, students and the administrative support staff.
