Job Title: Accountant
Location: Uganda
Our Client is a mobile money business solutions and is seeking to recruit a result driven and motivated individual for the vacancy above.
Reports to: Chief Accountant
Purpose of  the Job:
  • Support the company‚Äôs operations in financial and strategic business planning
  • To ensure the company financial statements are prepared accurately and in compliance with the  generally accepted accounting and reporting standards
  • Provide consistent, objective, ethical  business support all business operations 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly and annual financial statements compliance with reporting Standards
  • Prepare the annual budgets and quarterly forecasts
  • Ensure consistency and reliability of all key financial information presented to internal and external stake holders.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly VAT returns Customs & Excise (URA)
  • Ensure compliance with URA guidelines and requirements
  • Verify business expenditures presented by staff from different departments
  • Ensure accounting records are maintained in accordance with generally accepted accounting standards
  • Ensure Implementation of  Internal Control procedures and policies
  • Work closely and professionally with statutory bodies as well as  internal and external auditors
  • Advise in the implementation of accounting and operational systems
  • Present financial information to management
  • Promote ethical and professional behaviour within the business operations.
  • Supervise Accountants Assistant , review their workloads to ensure professionalism and efficiency within the team
  • Qualifications:
  • Degree in Finance or Accounting from a recognised University
  • At least 2 years experience in an accounting role or related fields
  • Partial or fully completed ACCA is an added advantage
  • Excellent technical accounting knowledge
  • Excellent Analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong Microsoft word, power point and excel with financial modelling
  • Strong team player
  • Excellent Leadership Skills, Interpersonal, Communication and Negotiation Skills
  • Ability to pick up systems, procedures and general company knowledge quickly
