Drivers Jobs at Uganda Road Fund (URF)

The Uganda Road Fund (URF) is a body corporate established by Uganda Road Fund Act 2008 to finance the routine and periodic maintenance of public roads. The Fund seeks to fill vacancies in the URF structure and accordingly invites applications from suitably qualified individuals for the following positions available at the Secretariat:-
Driver– 2 posts
(Reporting to the Administrative Officer)
The Road Fund Secretariat will need energetic and dynamic persons with the drive necessary to deliver a demanding business plan. Consequently, only candidates who will meet the requirements of the positions will be considered for further evaluation and interview.
Main Duties
a)    Driving official vehicles of the Uganda Road Fund for purposes of official URF work and be on call at all times;
b)    Responsible for the cleanliness, maintenance and good mechanical condition of assigned URF vehicle(s);
c)    Effecting minor repairs to assigned URF vehicle(s);
d)    Checking the vehicle routinely and compiling service reports;
e)    Entering the required data in the vehicle log book;
f)    Liaising with the respective heads of department to request for fuel, utilising the fuel, reporting on it and accounting for it;
g)    Run official errands including delivery of documents and letters as requested;
h)    Any other duties as assigned from time to time.
Qualifications and Competencies
·         Applicants must possess minimum Uganda Certificate of Education (O’ level) or the equivalent preferably with training in defensive driving, basic motor vehicle mechanics and or knowledge of office management;
·         Applicants must also possess a valid driving permit preferably with classes B, DM, DL and at least 5 years continuous driving experience in a reputable organization.

The successful candidate shall demonstrate:
Effective interpersonal skills;
a)    Confidentiality and professionalism;
b)    Customer care and communication skills.
