Job Summary: The Inclusion
Officer will work in close collaboration with MEAL department, the inclusion
officer will participate to the implementation and development of activities
designed to support;

- HI field teams to provide a more inclusive
response to humanitarian needs in our fields of action: Protection, MHPSS,
Rehabilitation and Cash based interventions within Omugo (Rhino Extension)
and Imvepi settlements; - Other agencies and NGO to develop more
inclusive programmes and projects to participate in a more inclusive
global response to the refugee crisis.

Participatory barriers and facilitators assessments: In close
coordination with the project managers and field teams, and under the management
of the Inclusion Supervisor, the Inclusion officer is participating in the
implementation of assessments of vulnerable people’s access to services in the

- To contribute and participate in the
development and review of tools and materials to conduct inclusive
participatory barriers and facilitators assessments; - To contribute to the organisation and
implementation of the assessments using tools and materials developed and
HI quality standards – conduct interviews, field observation, focus groups
and community meetings. - To contribute to the production of reports
identifying and documenting factors of vulnerability, resilience and
barriers to access services; - To participate in the service mapping
development to identify services that can facilitate and support a more
inclusive response as well as services needing support to be ;ore
inclusive.

- To identify, map and create links with
community based organizations, networks or focal points and other
organisations engaged in the inclusion of the most vulnerable people; - Sensitize existing and developed community
based initiatives on Inclusion approaches; - Support community based initiatives and
associated service providers to implement activities following an
inclusive approach; - Develop and implement capacity building
sessions for key informants and key community members and authorities to
support better inclusion.

the line management of the Inclusion Supervisor, the Inclusion Officer will
participate in activities designed to improve inclusiveness improvement in
service delivery to refugees and host communities. Those activities will target
staffs internally and externally.

Internal activities:
- To participate to the organization and
facilitation of activities organized by the MHPSS and protection team so
as to assess their inclusiveness and support inclusion action plan
development. - To contribute to the provision of
information, sensitization and training sessions to HI operational teams.
This could consist of awareness raising sessions, as well as direct
provision of both formal and on-the-job trainings.
External activities:
- To contribute to the development and
implementation of sensitisation and training tools and materials complying
with HI’s quality standards and inclusive approach; - To contribute to organizational, sectorial
and individual capacity building sessions (training, awareness, technical
guidance, sensitization on guidelines etc.); - To disseminate sensitization materials,
trainings materials, guidelines and other relevant documents among the
local organizations and other INGO (as needed); - To contribute to workshops on services
accessibility with partner NGO; - To support the drawing of participative
action plans; - To support the implementation of inclusion
action plans through capacity building, coaching, monitoring and evaluation
sessions.
MEAL Activities Support: The inclusion officer, as member of
the MEAL department, will also support the development and implementation of
MEAL action plan specifically on inclusion related topics.

- To participate and contribute in the drawing

studies or surveys; - To participate and contribute to relevant
beneficiaries, community and project meetings; - To contribute and participate to lessons
learned workshop and other learning activities.
Other Responsibilities
Demonstration of an ethics, safe, secure and professional practices
- To show professional ethics, respect and
promote HI mandate and humanitarian principles at all times - To respect beneficiary’s privacy and
confidentiality (among others, he/she only share medical information with
medical related staff/persons directly involved in beneficiary’s care and
same for protection matters) - To actively involve beneficiaries at all
stages of the assessment and response - Demonstrate willingness to improve his/her
own knowledge and skills by participating actively in any training
sessions, capacity building activities… - To respect the HI protection of children
policy, the protection of beneficiaries from sexual exploitation and abuse
policy, the anti-fraud bribery and corruption policy and report to your
line manager any non-respect of HI’s policies amongst the teams or
partners. - To report any incident or act that causes
any harm to beneficiary or to others - Ensure the strict application of the
rules; - Report any incident in which s/he’s
involved/witnessed immediately;
Coordination and representation
- Participating to the weekly team meetings;
- Participate to all HI’s internal meetings
upon request from line manager; - Participating, upon request from line
manager, in external meeting as inclusion technical resource; - Any other tasks deemed necessary by the
line manager.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the Handicap
International Inclusion Officer job opportunity must hold a Bachelor’s
Degree in the fields of,
Humanitarian Assistance, Development and International Cooperation,
Social Sciences, Health, Law or related - Two
years of professional experience in an NGO position - Two
years of professional experience in the field of protection of vulnerable
persons - Extensive
knowledge on disability and/or working experience with persons with
disabilities; - Medical
knowledge or experience in health/medical and/or rehabilitation field; - Ability
to work under pressure - Strong
interpersonal and intercultural skills - Good
communication and networking skills - Familiar
with MS Office (Word, Excel) and internet
Desirable:
- One
year of professional experience working with refugees - Experience
in survey and assessment delivery - Experience
in social cohesion and/or community mobilization - Proven
capacity building and coaching skills - Knowledge
of any Local language (Lugbara, Kakwa or Juba Arabic) is desired.
Condition:
Starting Date: As soon as possible
Salary Scale: Ugx.1, 319,623 Monthly Gross
Length of contract: 5 months.
Living conditions: Living inside the settlement on working days
