African Initiatives for Relief
and Development (AIRD) is a non-governmental, non-political, non-religious and
non-profit international organization whose objective is to provide operational
support but not limited to: supply chain, logistics, construction,
infrastructure, environment, livelihoods and WASH in partnership with relief
and development organizations which primarily focus on disaster-affected and
development-orientation areas.
Job Summary: The Finance
Officer will be tasked with the implementation of AIRD Uganda Programme Financial
policies and procedures; work with Department Heads/sub office/ site managers
to undertake financial activities and prepare periodic financial reports of the
respective areas. Assist the Finance and Administrative Manager in reviewing
and updating the policies and procedures based on the needs generated from the
field offices or donor requirements.



Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The
    applicant must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • A
    recognized professional designation in Accounting or Internal Auditing
    (CPA, CMA,CGA,CIA or CISA) is an added advantage
  • At
    least five years’ experience in similar position
  • Masters’
    degree in Accounting, Business administration or any related field is an
    added advantage
  • Comprehensive
    and current knowledge of legislation applicable to
  • Good
    understanding of accounting principles and financial statements
  • Advanced
    computer skills in Accounting software with specialty in quick books and
    MS Excel and other MS packages
  • Strong
    interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High
    level of honesty and Integrity
  • Attention
    to detail and accuracy
  • Ability
    to work under pressure with minimum supervision.
  • Willingness
    to work in any part of the country
