Job Title:        Health and Safety Manager

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
·        
Implement EHS strategy
·        
Develop implement and review H&S policy and
procedures
·        
The jobholder will also manage and audit H&S
regulatory / corporate compliance and report / investigate incident / accident
and near misses
·        
Provide expert advice on EHS matters to
Management
·        
Tasked with monitoring and evaluation of EHS
implementation plans
·        
Investigate complaints relating to employees’
health and safety
·        
Inspect / audit the workplace health and safety
tools and equipment
·        
Develop health and safety programmes / systems
to ensure compliance by all employees
·        
Identify safety training needs, organise and
coordinate EHS trainings
·        
Develop, manage emergency response systems in
accordance with the local regulations





Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
·        
The applicant must hold a bachelor’s degree from
a recognised University
·        
Certificate training in Environment, Health
& Safety
·        
A minimum of four years of experience in a
similar role in a large organisation
·        
Registration with professional / regulatory
organisation as an expert or advisor
·        
Knowledge of local, international and security
sector legislation
·        
A disciplined and responsible person of
integrity
·        
Must be a Ugandan citizen or permanent resident
·        
Excellent communication and people management
skills
·        
Good team player
·        
Customer and result oriented
·        
Objective, decisive and pay attention to detail
