In 1996, Action Africa Help International (AAIN) became Aktion Africa
Hilfe e. V (AAH) and was registered in Munich, Germany from where our founders
in 2003 moved the organisation’s headquarters to Kenya. AAH-I now works with
refugees, host communities and other marginalized and vulnerable groups in
Kenya, Uganda, Somalia and South Sudan, where it operates across a range of
sectors that seek to bridge relief to development.
Action Africa Help Uganda (AAH U) has received funding from United
Nations World Food Programme (UNWFP) to implement programmes from the in the
District of Lamwo (Palabek Refugee Settlement).
Job Summary: The Storekeeper
will supervise all activities within the store. Be responsible for the passage
of all goods through the store, record and maintain relevant stock levels and
the in charge of ensuring safe and efficient storage and packing of all items.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
·        
Make
sure that all goods are stored and packed safely and securely.
·        
Ensure
that stock levels are recorded correctly on bin cards.
·        
The
jobholder will check deliveries of goods for quality and quantity, and record
details on goods received forms.
·        
Issue
goods from stock only on receipt of authorised stock request forms.
·        
Develop
and organize an efficient filing system for all documentation related to
stores.
·        
Prepare
and physically conduct periodic stock taking for compliance on stock level
agreements, disposal and records of stock movements.
·        
Organise
the manual loading and unloading of vehicles when necessary.
·        
Compile
regular stock reports and stock reconciliation’s, and ensure that discrepancies
in stock levels are reported to the line manager.
·        
Ensure
that all health and safety procedures are understood and followed by all staff.
·        
Responsible
for the security of the store and the stock.
·        
Responsible
for maintenance of the store and all equipment within it.
·        
Perform
any other duties assigned by the supervisor
Key Result Areas:
·        
A
well maintained, clean and hygienic storage area
·        
Stores
records are maintained and filing is accurate, up to date and reconciled with
physical stock
·        
Periodic
stock taking conducted and reports produced and communicated to relevant
departments through the supervisor
·        
Send
periodic reports prepared and submitted on time
·        
Storage
house is always locked and secure



Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
·        
The ideal candidate for the Action Africa Help
Uganda (AAH U) Storekeeper job opportunity should hold a Diploma in Stores Management, Supply Chain
Management or a related field
·        
A
minimum of two years’ experience in similar or higher position.
·        
Computer
literacy i.e. proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
·        
Excellent
inter-personal and communication skills
·        
Excellent
command of both written and spoken English
·        
Must be
willing to live and work in rural areas and demonstrate resilience to work in
hardship conditions.
·        
Ability
to work effectively as a team member and independently,
·        
Ability
to manage multiple priorities under pressure, trouble-shoot, and to meet short
deadlines in a fast-pace work environment
·        
Excellent
critical and creative thinking and analytical skills
·        
Fluency
in written and spoken English
·        
Ability
to ride motorcycle, with a valid rider permit
