Job Summary: The Supervising
Pharmacist is mainly responsible for ensuring that the regional pharmacy meets
and complies with good pharmacy practice, storage and distribution in accordance
to pharmaceutical society of Uganda and National Drug Authority (NDA) standards
and guidelines.

- Prepare and file licensing and
certification documents for the ware house on an annual basis to NDA and
PSU - Conduct facility self-inspection audits
using PSU and NDA inspection checklist to assess for compliance to good
pharmacy practices. - Prepare Correction Action and Preventive
Action plans (CAPA) in response to PSU and NDA audits - Prepare and implement training programmes
of staff through Continuous Professional Development (CPD). - Prepare Standard Operating Procedures for
the various operations at the ware house and ensure periodic reviews of
the SOPS. - The jobholder will also deview the daily
logs of temperature, cleaning and signoff as appropriate - Ensure good storage and ware housing
practices are followed and develop a storage chart for the various classes
of goods e.g. cold chain products, products stored away from light etc. - Sensitise and provide medical information
to staff and other organisations on any new drugs that may have come on
market. - Carry out visual inspection of medicines
and medical supplies at the ware house to assess products for any
suspected counterfeit or substandard products. - The jobholder will assess for eligibility
of any organisation or person to purchase medicines from the ware house to
eliminate possibilities of medicines going to elicit channels or being
abused especially narcotics and commonly abused products. - Prepare various activity and periodic
reports. - Put in place and monitor systems to ensure
proper inventory controls at the ware house i.e. track expiries, stock
card balances, minimum stock balances and buffer stocks.

Supervising Pharmacist job opportunity should hold a Bachelor’s degree in
Pharmacy, registered with Pharmacy Board, and a member of the
Pharmaceutical Society of Uganda. - Possess highly analytical skills
- Good team player
- Highly flexible
- Ability to work under minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication skills, organized
- Keen attention to detail
- Be highly responsive to the task at hand
