About US:
Uganda Coffee Development Authority was established as a public
Authority, and its mandate is to promote and oversee the coffee industry by
supporting research, promoting production, controlling coffee quality, and
improving the marketing of coffee in order to optimize foreign exchange
earnings for the country and payments to the farmers.
Job Summary: The Risk
Officer will support the Audit and Compliance Manager in the implementation of
the day-to-day operations of risk management program designed to protect UCDA
against all financial, physical and human resources exposures and risks,
including general liability, property damages, and other risks
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
  • Render support in planning, designing and
    implementing an overall risk management process for UCDA
  • Develop and manage processes to identify
    and evaluate Organizations’ risks and risk control assessments.
  • Establish and quantify the organization’s
    risk appetite
  • Responsible for regular monitoring and
    reporting of risks to process owners/head of departments to ensure they
    are aware of risks relevant to their parts of the organization.
  • Offer technical support and training to
    staff to build risk awareness within the organization.
  • Perform any other duties as may be
    assigned by Management from time to time.
     
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate should hold a
    Bachelor’s Degree (First Class or Upper Second class) in Finance and
    Accounting or B. Com (Accounting /Finance Option) or BBA (Accounting
    Option) from a recognized university.
  • Full professional qualifications in
    Accounting (ACCA, CPA (U), IIA)
  • At least five years of related experience
    in risk management or internal audit position.
  • Impeccable level of integrity,
    professionalism, teamwork and analytical skills and a good eye for detail.
  • Good problem-solving and decision-making
    abilities;
  • Ability to understand broad organization
    issues
  • Excellent communication and presentation
    skills;
  • Good computer skills are needed with
    proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Good negotiation skills and the ability to
    influence people;
