About UCU:
Uganda Christian University was founded when the historic Bishop Tucker
Theological College was promoted as a university in 1997. Bishop Tucker
Theological College trained clergy and educators during its 84-year history
from 1913-1997. The local chief, Hamu Mukasa, granted land for the college to
operate in Mukono. International partnerships were part of the College’s
missionary history. The Church Mission Society teamed with Ugandan leaders and
others to assure the College had the necessary intellectual and other capital.
By the late 1990s, the Church of Uganda sought to have a broader impact on
society through the higher education – not only of clergy but of other
professionals as well. Uganda Christian University was established in 1997.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
  • Tutor the allocated workload in a semester
  • The incumbent will prepare assessment
    tools and marking guides accordingly
  • Tutor and assess students in accordance
    with the University’s Curriculum
  • Must be present for all lecturers
  • The incumbent will attend to students’
    academic needs and also offer advice.
  • Must be available for departmental,
    academic and administrative meetings
  • Should be willing to uphold the
    University’s instruments of Identity
  • Coordinate the Understanding World Views
    course unit
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate should preferably hold
    a first or second upper class Bachelor’s degree from Uganda Christian
    University.
  • Promise of skill and effectiveness in
    teaching and advising students.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication,
    and time-management skills.
  • Possess excellent computer skills
  • Ability to learn, adapt, and be flexible
    in an office, classroom, laboratory, and field environment.
  • Able to work independently and as part of
    a wider team.
  • Highly dependable and committed to
    continuous improvement, learning, and personal growth.
  • Ability to multi-task and stay organized
    in a dynamic work environment with parallel projects and deadlines.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Should be a committed and practicing
    Christian
