Job Summary: The Manager
Information Technology will provide timely support to the operations and acting
as a liaison with client systems staff to implement client processes and
systems that will assist in the development of operational improvements for the
business.

Key Duties and
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- The jobholder will also prepare, Plan and
budget for the unit and the computer systems expenditures in line with the
UPL Business Strategy. - Offer timely support to the team through
training, mentoring, capacity building to ensure the effective
performance. - Actively contribute to income generating
and sustainability initiative of UPL - Develop and implement policies and
procedures for electronic data processing (EDP) and computer systems
operations development across the entire organization. - Plan for and coordinate UPL’s computer
hardware repair, system building, software installation and maintenance in
line with UPL IT policies. - Ensure technology is accessible and
equipped with current hardware and software by providing orientation to
new users of existing technology. - Work extensively with user departments to
develop or modify data processing and office automation systems;
coordinate testing and evaluation of computer hardware and software on
desktops, laptops, and servers running various versions of Microsoft
Windows operating system (Win XP, Win7/3, Win2003, Win2003, andWin2012}. - Assist in the creation and management of
procurement processes for the acquisition of technology products and
services. Define and establish computer hardware and software requirements
for the company. - The jobholder will also implement,
participate in the review and monitor the security and safety of the
servers and integrity of organizational data and IT systems as per UPL
policies. - Keenly monitor and make a report on the
performance and status of the IT systems to the IT Coordinator and the
Management. - Supervise, motivate, appraise and build
staff capacity in the IT department in line with the organizational needs
and Human Resource policies, and procedures.
Key Performance Indicators:
- Updated inventory of all ICT equipment
- Send timely reports
- Functional computer systems (software and
hardware} - Security and integrity of organizational
data and IT systems - Functional telecom and intercom systems
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
Experience:
- The applicant should hold a Bachelor’s
degree (Honours) in Information Technology, Computer Science from a
recognized institution is required. - Possession of a relevant Postgraduate
qualification - Professional certification in
MSCE/CISA/CCNA is an added advantage - At least eight years working experience in
a related field, five years at a supervisory level from a reputable
organization.
