range of insurance products and services in Life and Non-Life insurance
businesses and Financial Management. NIC Holdings has two subsidiaries which
include NIC General Insurance Company Limited and NIC Life Assurance Company
Limited.
Job Summary: The Deputy
Manager Information Technology is primarily responsible for managing all
organization technologies and providing technology support and training.  
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
  • The incumbent will plan, monitor and
    report on the preventive maintenance, servicing and repair of ICT computer
    equipment and system applications in line with the activity plan and ICT
    Policy.
  • Coordinate the acquisition, installation
    and maintenance of the organization’s Local Area Network hardware/software
    in line with procurement guidelines and NIC policies.
  • The incumbent also manages network
    connectivity operations, troubleshooting software applications, and
    preventive maintenance on hardware and software databases in line with
    guiding policies and procedures.
  • Carries out routine preventive maintenance
    on hardware and software.
  • Keeps immediate supervisor well-informed
    of activities and recommends corrective actions.
  • Assists staff in understanding and using
    technology; conducts regular staff technology presentations and trainings.
  • As needed and appropriate but no less than
    annually, provides written technology policy guidance to managers,
    supervisors, staff and consumers/participants.
  • The incumbent designs, develops web-based
    applications and maintains new functionality in line with guiding policies
    and procedures.
  • The jobholder also analyzes technology
    requirements, develop functional specifications, conduct comparative
    analysis and manage procurement and disposal in line with administrative
    guidelines.
  • Develops and maintains technology
    policies, standards and procedures manual; develops and maintains related
    technology checklists.
  • Tasked with the discovery, mitigation and
    documentation of information technology risks.
  • Responsible for the completion of monthly
    risk management reports.
  • Prepares, maintains and tests a technology
    disaster recovery plan.
  • Performs any other professional duties as
    may be required from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate should hold a
    Bachelor’s Degree (honors) in Information technology/ Computer Science.
  • A minimum of five years’ Information
    Technology experience in a reputable organization preferably an Insurance
    company.
  • Proficiency in AIMS & IES (Insurance
    Enterprise Software) packages is an added advantage.
  • Self driven, innovative, team player and
    able to work long hours under minimum supervision.
