training and funding to entrepreneurs for the entire business journey.

building sustainable local businesses. We do this by utilising the skills of
committed international and local volunteers to provide continued support and
funding to help micro-entrepreneurs grow into SMEs.
Job Summary: The Business
Consultant will work in either Jinja or Mbale, supporting 18 of the best small
businesses to grow and create employment. When working with a business you will
firstly analyse the business and understand the barriers and opportunities to
grow. You will then work with the entrepreneur to implement strategies to grow
the business significantly and support the entrepreneur to do this.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:   
Entrepreneur Recruitment:
  • Advertise the programme in the community.
  • Attract the best local entrepreneurs to
    apply.
  • Assess businesses and pick those with the
    highest potential
Business Analysis:
  • Work closely with entrepreneurs to
    understand their business in detail
  • Be comfortable conducting financial
    analysis including revenue, costs and profitability analysis
  • Discover opportunities to expand and grow
    the business
  • Prioritise growth opportunities based on
    detailed analysis
Business Growth:
  • Design, run and manage marketing campaigns
  • Provide sales support
  • Help keep financial records
  • Execute strategies for business growth 
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:  
  • The applicant should have previous experience
    either running a successful business or helping entrepreneurs to be
    successful
  • Excellent understanding of Ugandan
    business context. 
  • Highly analytical, able to spot
    opportunities and choose the right strategy
  • Excellent at building personal
    relationships and trust
  • Be comfortable with numbers and Microsoft
    Excel
  • Excellent sales person
  • A strong work ethic and be super ambitious
