About Us:
Uganda Reach the Aged Association (URAA) is a national NGO established
in 1991. It works for the realization and preservation of a dignified quality
of life for Older Persons in Uganda.
URAA has secured funding from European Union through HelpAge
International to implement a three-year project to advance the rights and
protection of conflict-affected older South Sudanese migrants in Uganda.
Job Summary: The Program
Officer will be responsible for a three year project to advance the rights and
protection of conflict-affected older South Sudanese migrants in Uganda.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate for the Program
    Officer job placement must hold a degree
    in social sciences, development studies or a related field.
  • A
    minimum of two years’ experience in project management
  • One
    year of experience working with refugees and host communities
  • Computer
    literacy skills with practical knowledge of MS Office
  • Previous
    experience in organizational development, access to justice and
    human rights awareness
  • Excellent
    people, written, oral, presentation and IT communication skills
  • Good
    monitoring and evaluation skills including the capacity to generate
    evidence based data
  • Ability
    to work in a faced environment with minimum supervision
  • Basic
    skills of financial management and knowledge of local languages
