About USAID RHITES-E Project:
IntraHealth International will implement the USAID RHITES-E which
supports the Government of Uganda (GOU) and key stakeholders to increase
availability and utilization of high quality health services in 21 districts in
Eastern Uganda and 2 in Karamoja by strengthening health systems and improving
the quality of, access to, and demand for health services with attention to
equity and underserved populations.
Job Summary: The Finance and
Administration Officer will primarily be responsible for reviewing internal
vouchers for payment and ensuring compliance with RHITES-E and organizational
policies on finance.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
  • Risk Management: Facilitating
    office finance Audits, undertaking cash counts
  • Custodian of program funds:
    Ensuring timely and adequate cash flow for the program team; Issuing,
    monitoring and reconciling program finances
  • Budget preparation and monitoring:
    Review of program activity budgets and ensuring adherence.
  • Financial reporting: Ensuring
    accurate updating of program cashbook, accuracy and timeliness of
    financial reports and documents.
  • To ensure compliance to IntraHealth
    financial SOP’s: Ensure adequate and proper documentation of expenditures
  • Assets Management: Participate
    in regular verification of fixed assets and reconciliation to the main log
  • Carry out regular audits to the office
    stores items
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
  • The applicants for the USAID RHITES-E
    Finance and Administration Officer job opportunity must hold a Bachelor of
    Commerce- Accounting/ Finance or its equivalent from a recognized institution
  • CPA I or its equivalent
  • A minimum of four years of relevant work
    experience
  • Familiarity with Quick Books and MS Excel
    and MS Word
  • Proficient use of Microsoft office
    especially Excel
