About US:
Kalangala Oil Palm Growers Trust (KOPGT) supports oil palm farmers in
Kalangala to grow oil palm and market the crop for the benefit of the oil palm
growers. KOPGT provides long term reliable support to small scale oil palm
farmers and out growers’ scheme, Bugala and outlaying Islands in Kalangala
District. KOPGT works closely with the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry
and Fisheries (MAAIF) -Vegetable Oil Development Project Phase two (V0DP2) to
achieve its mission of supporting farmers. VODP2 is jointly funded by
International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and the Government of
the Republic of Uganda.
Job Summary: The Fresh Fruit
Bunches Quality Inspector  will ensure
that all requirements relating to compliance and quality of oil palm fresh
fruit bunches (FFB) are met.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities:  
  • The jobholder will execute quality checks
    on FFB and suitability for transportation to the factory
  • Ensure strict adherence to FFB testing and
    sampling regime
  • Tasked with promoting quality procedures
    and continuous improvement in the quality of FFB
  • Physically inspecting FFB
Key Result Areas:
  • Ensure FFB delivered to OPUL in high
    quality
  • Improved quality of FFBs
  • Quality assurance and quality control
    procedures
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate must hold a Diploma in
    Agriculture from a recognised institution. Possession of a degree in
    agriculture related field is an added advantage.
  • A minimum of three years’ experience in
    quality inspection; preferably in plantation agriculture.
  • Computer literacy skills i.e. proficiency
    in Microsoft office suite packages.
  • Computer literacy and knowledge of
    accounting software systems.
  • Strong team player with proven
    communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly motivated with good organizational
    and analytical ability.
  • Age: Below 40 years
